Only For Now

We just saw Avenue Q on Broadway earlier, and what can I say, I’ve never seen a production that has two puppets fornicating in bed. If that doesn’t give you an idea how riotous this musical is, then I don’t know what does.

A humorous take on unemployment, Schadenfraude, racism and homosexuality, the play is a must-see. Forget about bringing your kids; though it is an homage to Sesame Street, it just isn’t cut for their viewing. Do expect to laugh out loud. :D

This was apparently shown in Manila fairly recently too as my friends there were also raving about it. ;) What I found amusing was when one of my gal pals said she was bothered by one of the scenes there since one of the “puppet fornicators’” name was Nicholas, which was incidentally also her young son’s name… hehehe :)

Pinky, ako naman na-curious how they adapted the play in Manila, since dito nga no holds-barred ang cursing and four-letter words on stage. :) Medyo i scoured the crowd if there were kids, baka kasi mabigla! My friends raved about it din, kaya I had to watch! :)

hmm.. got me curious :)

Star, when you get the chance, do watch it! It was a light take on the issues I mentioned, makaka-relate ang viewer! :)

skandalosong puppets talaga, hahaha :D so it is an homage pala to sesame street. “5 night stands! 1 night stand!” winner!

Len, oo nga eh! Medyo nahihiya pa ako dun sa mga katabi namin na old couple, dahil “all out” yung mga ‘actors’, hahaa!

ang kulit diba? it was hilarious indeed! :-)

Yezzz, bru! I’d recommend this over and over! :)

can’t wait to watch a play in broadway :D

Catch this when it shows in Manila again! :)

LMAO!!!!!!!!

puppets fornicating in bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can’t stop laughing, i want to watch this already!!!!!!!

Not kid-friendly, i tell you!

naku isa pa yan, kapag ipapalabas sa city kung saan ako (currently) nakatira, tsaka naman kami lilipat! grrr. sa May 13-18 andito sila sa miami, sana nandito pa kami by then. :D

Mee, may pagka-elusive ang broadway shows sayo! :) Sana nga andyan pa kayo, you gotta see this! :)

hi! i got here through Panaderos’ blog. :)

i was in the height of my toxic end-of-residency schedule when this showed in Manila and I am sad to say I missed it… sayang because I fell in love with the OST more than a year ago. It’s hilarious even just on audio, i can imagine how great it must be on stage.

my favorite tracks are “What do you do with a BA in English,” and “Fantasies Come True,” but all of the songs are laugh-out-loud funny.
