[Insert Expletives Here]

No thanks to American Airlines, our short trip to Chicago for the weekend is cancelled. Maliban sa monotone yung boses nya (nakakairita!), wala daw siyang makitang return flight after 6am nung tina-try ko ipa-reschedule for next week, kahit hanggang June daw. Hello? Eh katitingin ko lang sa website sandamakmak yung return flights from Chicago - NY, a two-hour flight, walang makita? Distansyang Baguio - Manila ba ‘to? (Naks). Paanong di updated eh unang-una, misleading yun. Pangalawa, several people do their domestic reservations online, paanong di updated? Pagkatapos, pina-hold ako, after a minute, mayamaya biglang nagbusy yung signal at nawala. Grrr. Gusto kong manapak.

Putreska.

First of all, I like your blog’s new layout. Nice colors and I love the comment box I’m typing on right now. :)

Anyway, I hate American Airlines. I’ve always felt that their planes, when compared to the others, were not that well maintained. I guess that feeling got validated now that the FAA has ordered AA to ground more than a thousand of their flights.

I’ve flown on American a few times. I’ve always found the interior of the plane to be old and quite dirty. I now fly Continental. The planes are cleaner and they serve food on coast-to-coast flights. Sa American, gutom.

Salamat, na-inggit ako sayo, haha! :)

At least dyan sa Newark, they have several Continental flights. Dito sa JFK/LGA where I’m closer to, AA is almost always the default choice for domestic flights. And yes, gutom talaga! I’m not particular with the planes naman, efficient customer service lang sana, considering this is the airline’s fault naman. Pero all’s well that ends well, it was resolved last night. Though I’d probably have second thoughts about going on AA now.

o, easy! easy! baka nga mapa-anak ka! :D i do hope that trip still pushes through somehow.

and can i just say na natawa ako masyado dito:

“Gaga ka ba?” Pero ang sinabi ko na lang, ”This is crazy!” (Naks).”

hehehe :D (natatawa pa din!)

Len, hindi na tuloy, sayang. As it is, it’s hard to get the schedule that would work for me, since short trip nga (Fri nite-Sunday noon lang eh) lalo na ilang linggo na lang ako pwede mag-travel. Buti naman at na-refund nila!

As for my comment, naman kasi. :)

calm down mama!

but i’m freaking out too.. cuz who’s to say they still won’t be cancelling flights the weekend we leave for our cruise? i will shoot someone with more than one bullet if we miss our cruise, bastards.

but hey, we’re still lucky.. at least we aren’t stuck at the airport eating oranges and sleeping on dirty, germ-y cots.

wait, was it oranges they were giving away? ANYWAYS.

rebook on a different airline! :)

Jen - when are you guys flying? They said on the news that things will hopefully clear up over the weekend. So you’re probably in luck.

Oranges? Huwaaat? I didn’t know that. :D

The trip’s cancelled altogether! A little consolation - we’re driving down Cape Cod three weeks from now for J’s birthday weekend, hopefully that trip isn’t as toxic!

Abby, sorry to hear about your flight.

I used to work for AmEx Travel and I remember dati when there were snow storms or black outs or just a massive number of flight cancellations, the websites would be first systems to “crash” and the last to be updated just due to the sheer number of people (travel agencies or airline) changing flights etc.

So what the airline agent was telling you was probably true.
You should ask AA though to endorse you to another carrier. Basically since it’s their cancellation, you can choose to either rebook on another AA flight, or ask them to endorse you to another carrier if you’re not happy with their alternative flights. Do some research and pick a flight on another airline just in case they agree and ask if you have a preferred flight or something.
Hope it gets resolved soon, and favorably!!

Hi Mik! Thanks for the tips! I spoke with AA last night, and since they anticipated grounding more flights, they refunded the fare, no questions asked. You’re right, I guess at that point with the influx of cancelled flights, nawindang yung website. But I dunno about the agent I spoke with, who obviously didn’t want to be bothered to begin with, at napunta sa wala and in the end, naputol yung usapan namin. :D Anyway, like I said, although di natuloy, ok na din.

Lalo akong nainis dahil wala akong magawa nung biglang naputol yung linya! Nakuuuu! :D

Abby, breathe in, breathe out… ;)

Anyhoo, I can so relate with your unpleasant experience with airline customer (dis)service agents who mouth one BS after another and then cut your line off when you got them cornered - as in “grrr” talaga!

Di bale, baka a better weekend vacation is in store for you soon. Take care!

Hehe, thanks Pinky! Ok na din, looking forward to the long drive in a few weeks. :)

Hehe baliw! Pero oo nga no…

aba kaguluhan yang airline na yan ha! o hinga-hinga abby at baka mapaanak ka nga nyan

Sabi sa news, this summer daw malamang talo ang service because of aviation inspection chuchu. naku, good luck na lang talaga sa travelers!

ang puso mo. :D ok na rin pala, at least you were able to make other travel plans na hopefully nga hindi as toxic.

Haay korek ka, feeling ko nga mas mabuti pang i-endure ang 14-18 hour flight kasi yung service most of the time mas maayos kesa sa short-distance travel.

take it easy, abs! at me baon akong tag para sa chopsuey site mo. mmmwah!
