Mental Post-Its

* I’m having a case of the sniffles due to allergy season. I feel so lightheaded and woozy in the morning, and still lightheaded and woozy when I come home at night.

* The current weather is as fickle as a woman. It went from Spring to Summer to Winter again.

* Since my belly started showing, there have only been 5 women and one Asian guy who offered me a seat to date. I’m too proud to take the seat when it’s offered (I’m only a few stops away, anyway) so I gratefully refuse, but I’m still keeping a head count. Those big, burly men who looked at me, then my belly and then pretended to be asleep or too friggin’ immersed with the newspaper to notice the protruded belly? Shame on you and your mothers.

* I spend quite a few sleepless nights tossing and turning (and worrying) about the impending changes in the next few months. The only thought that puts me to sleep? God will provide.

* I don’t see the lady with the floral, puke-inducing scent in the office halls anymore. I think I miss her. Not.

* No matter how ahead you are of your game, kung tamad at papetiks-petiks ang mga katrabaho mo, magiging atrasado ang project. Bad trip.

* I should stop eyeing the Marc Jacobs Sloane bag in Sun at Bloomingdale’s. But I think the color suits my personality. I wonder if I can get away with a pre-mother mother’s day gift this year.

* The Wii console is da bomb.

I cannot agree with you more. The Wii Console is the ultimate bomb! :D

Re: Expecting Mother’s Day (that’s what my co-workers call it) gifts are welcome in our house! In fact, WE ENCOURAGE IT!

Abby, I hope you feel better soon. It is so hard to get sick especially when you are pregnant. I’m sure you want to avoid drinking any form of medicine, if possible.

Naku, I’m not surprised that an Asian man offered you a seat. It seems to be our culture to offer women, most especially those who are pregnant, a seat in public transports.

I am looking forward to your regular updates on the head count. I’m pretty sure that a Western man, and a New Yorker at that, will not offer you a seat. I hope I’m wrong, though :)

May three months pa, I haven’t lost faith! Ayan tuloy, it has become the quest for a gentleman westerner, sa halip na quest for preggo convenience. :D

You should carry a cane so you not only look pregnant but also pilay. My aunt who just had a knee operation calls her cane a “magic stick” heeheh

I know what you mean, when J’s dad visited last year, VIP dating namin dahil nakitang senior citizen sya, tas may konting limp. No more waiting in lines! :D

Hope you feel better soon. Having the sniffles especially when you’re pregnant is not something any woman looks forward to, I’m sure… :(

A pre-mother’s day gift? Go for it! :) Technically, you ARE already a mother! Just ask that little bambino doing somersaults inside your belly!

Hi Pinky! Sana yung mag-sponsor ng gift nagbabasa nitong blog, hehe!

oh :( hope you recover from the sniffles. take care and drink lots of liquids! :)

Hi Tin, I think this’ll stay with me for a while, allergy season eh. Thanks!

Unfortunately in this Western part of the world, a lot of people have become so focused on their rights. It’s the downside to the American culture of respect for an individual’s rights. Some people take it to the extreme and lose all consideration or respect for others. I hate such attitude.

As for allergies, I’m taking both Clarinex and Flonase once a day. But even with that, my eyes still itch and I still sneeze every once in a while. I hate this part of the Spring.

I don’t mind standing up at all, what irks me is that they look at my ginormous belly and pretend not to see anything, sabay pikit at tulog kunyari. Kainis!

Hay, I’m so tempted to take medication, but I’m scared. I’m gonna have to wing this until the end of the season.

Drink lots of water! Be healthy!

And those darn men without manners? $#!%!

Yep, kainis Toni! And thanks! :)

i hope you feel well soon.

Mari, thanks. I hope so, too! :)

ay naku abby, kong nan dyan lang ako eh paparinggan to death yang mga mokong na mukhang nasobrahan ng anesthesia sa katawan. deadma lou-hin ba ang buntis, kaloka sila! and speaking of wii, i’m not a game-y kind of person. but i always have a blast when i play a wii game with my nephew. favorite namin laruin eh yong rayman raving rabbids. hehehe, bigla yata akong nag isip bagets. bwahaha

hey abs :) dito naman it’s supposed to be summer but it’s raining, so i also have the sniffles. i hope we both feel better soon! :)

sad ‘no, how the women who offer seats outnumber the men who do? i remember one time i took the train, this lolo ranted out loud about how “iba na talaga ang kabataan ngayon!!!” because nobody would offer a seat to them oldies na nakatayo. oo nga naman.

ALam mo Len, I’ve read of women who do request to get the seats that are taken, kasi may pagka-manhid nga yung iba talaga.

I hope you feel better! :)

wala pa kami ibang nalalaro aside from the sports cd. gusto ko yung old school na mario! :D

ay pag di nagoffer ng seat mars, next time around, tapakan mo ang toes! i do that i swear, then i apologise (kuno!) hahaha! feeling ko nkaganti na ‘ko!

water, ok? and shear butter cream! i wont stop reminding you, i swear! :-) hahaha!

wii? boxing champ! woohoo!

Wala pang stretch marks, yeba! Pero yes, I put them on! And nooo, di ko pa malaro ang boxing! :D

I can so relate to “God will provide”. This was like my mom’s mantra when she was still alive. The prospect of the baby coming in just a few months is daunting, but this line gets me through the day as well :)

Good luck to us both, Nikki! :) It’s a crossroad, really. Do I stay at home for a while, do I keep working, daming etcetera! I’m sure things will fall into place, don’t worry! Keep us posted on the gender ha! :)
